We went out two of us, coming back three of us! Baby Ainsley back home with us. She sleep so soundly on the way back. Putting her on the baby cot, she looks so tiny on it.
The first week of confinement starts, we didn’t engage confinement lady, so mother in law help to do instead. She will prepare food and help to bath baby and change diaper. Pretty much the same food. Morning have meesua, afternoon & dinner will be rice + 2 dishes + herbal soup, snack either red bean soup/sweet potato. We bought the 28 days tonic soup pack from Hock Hua, quite convenient, just need to open the pack, add meat & water. My mum only stays over for 4 days, miss her cooking so much.
My main task is to provide milk for baby! Baby didn’t latch on properly cause my nipple injure and bleeding after back home. WH bought me the nipple shield but doesn’t help much, sigh. Thought of pump it out to bottle fed baby instead of latch on. But can’t pump out much. So I could only apply the nipple cream to soothe my sore nipples while endure the pain when direct latch. Things get better when baby able to latch well and I no need to pump.
Have to attend baby needs around the clock, can’t hardly sleep more than 2 hours! I’m so tired and so painful to get up for feeding. The wound still pain. And I’m sweating so much that my body is sticky all the time. Sleep sweat, after food sweat, after feeding, even more sweat! Try to change clothes and wipes often but still feel so sticky. Poor baby have to endure with that too.
During the week, i was having bad engorgement, baby didn’t want to latch on, pump nothing out, apply hot towel also doesn’t work. Even get WH to buy cabbage for me. Then it only get slightly better when apply cold press. Feverish but I have no idea it’s because of the wound or the engorgement, it’s only get better after awhile.
We brought baby Ainsley for follow up at day 7. She is gaining weight well at 3.2kg. Visit gynae to check on my stitch as well.
